We went out with BrushBuck Wildlife Tours and saw moose at 6:45 and 7:05. We learned that “moose” means “twig eater.” There were elk and pronghorns, too, although I didn’t keep counts for those.

The tour was cold. We didn’t see much else in the way of animals, but we did get to see a lot of the park.

Around 11 we stopped at Café Genevieve in Jackson. I had chicken and waffles; Ksenia had a waffle. They served me cold tea, then replaced it quickly.

We went shopping for warmer clothes. I don’t like Jackson. You can feel the richie-riches in the air.

Then: a snowstorm. In June. The wind was rocking the car while it was parked.

We tried to go to Teton Thai, but the wait would have meant standing outside in the snow. We went back to the Mangy Moose instead. Elk and vegetable soup, fried pie, ragout for Ksenia, and ribs for me.

Part of our June 2024 Yellowstone and Grand Teton trip. Trip summary.
