Europe, Day 10: Prague: Walking Tour and Jewish Quarter
We checked in to the King’s Court Hotel and had lunch at Lokál Dlouhááá: sausage platter, butcher’s sausage, mashed potatoes, and Pilsner Urquell.
A SANDEMANs walking tour took us from Old Town Square and Týn Church past the Jan Hus statue, Estates Theatre, Charles University, the New Town, Powder Tower, Municipal Building, Hybernia Theatre, and Palladium. We reached Wenceslas Square, where the tour stopped for a quick break, then Josefov and the Jewish Quarter. We saw the Old New Synagogue, the Jewish Town Hall’s backward clock, and the Jewish Cemetery.
Dinner at U Parlamentu was delicious food with local history. Ksenia had rabbit with garlic; I had roast chicken and sauerkraut dumplings. There was dark Pilsner and some laughter.
