Europe, Day 9: The Spanish Riding School and Another Concert
Ksenia’s much-anticipated visit to the Spanish Riding School came first. The regular show with the studs was off-season, so the mares were in town instead. Ksenia had hearts in her eyes the whole time. I nodded off a few times.
At Demel, the coffee was better. Ksenia had a cake that was essentially an oversized macaron; I had strawberry cheesecake. We split a mini Sacher cake and I had a melange. We went back to the Riding School for a guided tour and a walk through the stables.
Outside the Rathaus, a fair had food vendors and a screen showing movies. We split a bärg spitzer and a bratwurst. Dinner at Gigerl for the third time, then a concert of Mozart’s Requiem at Karlskirche. Ksenia says I fell asleep. I disagree.
