Europe, Day 6: A Vienna Walking Tour, the Albertina, and Bratwurst

comments edit

We started a Vienna walking tour at Albertinaplatz with Peter. The route went through the Albertina, Sacher Hotel, the memorial for fascism, Hofburg Garden, Neue Hofburg Palace and the National Library, Maria Theresa, Mozart, Heldenplatz, St. Stephen’s Cathedral, and plenty more.

Lunch at Weibel’s Wirtshaus was Wiener schnitzel—not bad—and a local beer with a good smell. We also visited the National Library. At the Albertina we saw Monet, Picasso, and Cézanne, among others: Monet’s water lilies, Venice’s pink clouds, and a watercolor landscape that stuck with me. Dinner at Zu den 3 Hacken was bratwurst and apple strudel.
