Scotland, Day 2: On the Road to Skye
Scotch
| Whisky | Where |
|---|---|
| Oban | With lunch. |
| Isle of Raasay | With dinner at the hotel. |
We started our three-day Skye tour with Billy as our guide. Before we got too far from Edinburgh, he recommended Dean Village: pretty, with good shops and cafes. Something for our return to the city.
By 9:25 we were at Loch Lubnaig. The day’s stops also included Doune Castle—the Monty Python castle—and Stirling Bridge. Lunch was at Lochside Brasserie.
We continued through the Highlands, with the Five Sisters of Kintail and Loch Duich along the way. We also met Jamie and Margo, a pair of horses.
Dinner was at our hotel: sea bass, butternut squash, and vanilla sorbet with an almond flour brownie and popcorn. I had a Raasay Scotch and Skye Red beer; Ksenia had Thistly Cross Scottish Fruits cider.
