Pacific Northwest, Day 4: Cannon Beach and the Coast
We checked out of the hotel and drove to Cannon Beach to see Haystack Rock, “the Goonies never say die rock.” Lunch was at The Wayfarer, just off the beach: fish and chips for Ksenia, local salmon and clam chowder for me, and a Public Coast beer. The beer was OK.
Then we drove south on Route 101. Blue water, very green country, and ridiculously tall trees. We checked into Le Puy, a Wine Valley Inn near Newberg. Dinner was at The Dundee Bistro: an anniversary Pinot for me, shrimp pasta for Ksenia.
