Scotland, Day 15: Highgate, Posh Tea, and Totoro

comments edit

We stopped at Archie’s for breakfast on our way to Highgate Cemetery. I had a full English breakfast burrito. Ksenia had a yogurt parfait with coconut.

We visited both East and West Highgate; this was our first time in the West Cemetery. Douglas Adams had his pens. There were animal monuments: a dog named Lion, a horse’s grave, and a lion named Nero. We also visited the grave of Stevie Ray Vaughan’s bodyguard, who died in the helicopter crash.

Tea was in the Drawing Room at Brown’s Hotel. Very posh. Our waiter was Ukrainian, so he pronounced Ksenia’s full name correctly.

Then My Neighbor Totoro. The puppetry was amazing!! Such a good show.

When we got back to the Airbnb, I dropped my notebook in the bathroom. We thought it was lost and called both the tea place and the theater to see if we’d left it there. Eventually we gave up for the night. I was getting ready for bed when Ksenia found it.

Much relief.
