Poland, Day 10: The Neon Museum That Wasn’t Open
We passed the Warsaw Uprising monuments and wandered through Ogród Saski. The trees and fountain kept it cool, but there wasn’t much to see. Bus, tram, and a walk after the tram stopped without warning got us to the Neon Museum. The sign said it was open Wednesday through Saturday; the website said Monday. I tried the door anyway. No luck.
Back in the main part of the city, we had a quick bite at Croque Madame—better than average lemonade. We met up with friends, wandered Old Town and behind the Royal Palace, and had dinner and more gin and tonics. Then we went to the 30th-floor viewing terrace at the Palace of Culture and Science. Ksenia wasn’t a fan of the building, a gift from Moscow: “Best view in the entire city. You can’t see the Palace of Culture and Science from up here.”
