Barcelona, Day 5: The Gothic Quarter and Palau Güell
We walked down La Rambla, keeping an eye on our wallets and phones, and stopped at La Boqueria: a sandwich, a cone of meat, and fresh juice. Then we wandered through the Gothic Quarter, past the cathedral, into shops, and into a paper store with hand-bound leather notebooks. That store, Papirum, was very much my kind of place.
Lunch was at El Nou Pi Antic: Estrella beer, ham toast, lamb ribs, and crema catalana. At Palau Güell I liked the early Gaudí details, though the curvy, sloping roof was not great for my fear of heights. We also visited MACBA, which was emphatically not our cup of tea.
Part of my March 2017 Barcelona trip. Trip summary.
