London 2015, Day 8: Oxford's Libraries and Science
We took the train from Paddington to Oxford. At the Bodleian Library, the gift shop had all the things: bookmarks, coasters, pins, bags, Christmas ornaments, hanging signs. The notebook says “Happy Wife.”
The History of Science Museum had Einstein’s blackboard, astrolabes, quadrants, scopes, and Marconi’s radio equipment. On a walking tour we saw Wadham College and learned about the group that helped give rise to the Royal Society; Christopher Wren came up too. A full day of books, instruments, and Oxford history before the train back to London.
